India cuts sugar stock limit for dealers by 50% to curb hoarding
India will halve the sugar stock limit for dealers to 2,000 quintals from September 15, down from 4,000 quintals, to curb hoarding and stabilise prices. The limit will remain until November 30, with dealers barred from holding stocks for over 30 days. The government said the move aims to curb stockpiling and ensure orderly supply at reasonable prices.
