SC allows Ashish Mishra to visit Lakhimpur Kheri for Diwali

The Supreme Court permitted Ashish Mishra, accused in the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, to visit his hometown to celebrate Diwali with family. He must return by November 16. Mishra, son of former Union Minister Ajay Mishra, has been on bail since January 2023 but was barred from entering Lakhimpur Kheri.
