Qatar rejects claims of $12 bn offer to Iran amid push for US-Iran peace deal

Qatar has denied reports that it has offered $12 billion to Iran to secure an agreement aimed at ending US-Iran war. Majed Al Ansari, adviser to PM and official spokesperson for Qatar's foreign ministry, called reports "utterly baseless". The controversy around alleged $12 billion payment is linked to ongoing discussions over Iranian funds frozen abroad, including billions held in Qatar.
