Railway Ministry is planning to run 992 special trains for the upcoming Kumbh Mela in UP's Prayagraj, officials said. An allocation of ₹933 crore for infrastructure and amenity upgrades will also be done, officials added. This mega religious congregation will be held in Prayagraj from January 13 and 30 crore to 50 crore devotees are estimated to gather.
