Several fuel pumps along the Indo-Nepal border in UP have either shut operations or are functioning with limited stock as petrol is being smuggled to Nepal, Dainik Bhaskar reported. Petrol is selling for around ₹135/litre in Nepal while prices in India remain near ₹100, creating a ₹34-40/litre profit opportunity. Petrol is being smuggled via villages, forest routes and river crossings.
