National record holder Vishal TK clocked 45.27s to top Heat 2 of men's 400m and qualify automatically for final at Asian Games 2026. His time was also fastest across all three heats. Kiran Pahal finished second in her heat in 53.44s, while Prachi clocked 53.46s to finish third in her heat, with both booking their berths in women's 400m final.
