New study highlights 3 biggest risks for liver disease

A new study found that cases related to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease are projected to rise to 1.8 billion by 2050. It highlighted that smoking damages liver cells over time. High BMI is also a risk factor. Further, high fasting plasma glucose, often linked to diabetes or prediabetes, pushes liver to convert extra sugar into fat.
