The rift between Arvind Kejriwal and ex-Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot started after portfolio redistribution following ex-Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia's arrest in 2023. Most portfolios were divided amongst Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi, who succeeded Kejriwal as CM. In December, Law and Justice Department was also taken away from Gahlot. The rift grew further over August 15 flag row.
