In the past couple of years, Gen Z (people born roughly between 1997 and 2012) have protested across the globe, including Nepal, Peru and Bangladesh. In Nepal, the protests were driven by a social media ban, government corruption and unemployment. Youth in Bangladesh protested over civil service job quotas, economic issues and political authoritarianism, leading to ex-PM Sheikh Hasina's ouster.
