Bankim Chandra's descendant asks Sonia Gandhi to apologise for Vande Mataram row

Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's descendant and BJP MLA Sumitro Chatterjee has sought an apology from Congress leader Sonia Gandhi over allegedly asking to stop the full rendition of Vande Mataram. In a letter Chatterjee said the alleged incident was a "shameless repetition of a historical mistake". Congress denied the allegations, saying Sonia was trying to ensure a chair for Mallikarjun Kharge.
