The Odisha government has increased reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in medical, engineering, and higher and technical education courses. It also approved reservation for students from backward classes in these courses. ST quota rises from 12% to 22.5%, SC from 8% to 16.25%, while 11.25% seats will be reserved for socially and educationally backward classes.
