Govt urges bank staff to call off strike, flags 5-day disruption

The Finance Ministry on Monday urged public sector bank and regional rural bank employees to call off their three-day strike scheduled for September 28-30. It warned the proposed strike, which coincides with the half-yearly closing on September 30, could disrupt banking services for five consecutive days. Bank employees are protesting over the implementation of five-day banking.
