3 supermassive black holes found in one galaxy; largest is 80 mn times the Sun's mass
Astronomers have discovered a distant galaxy containing three active supermassive black holes, marking the first such evidence in a single galaxy. Two black holes are at its centre, while the third is about 5,500 light-years away. The largest is 80 million times the Sun's mass. Scientists said the smallest could merge with the largest in a few hundred million years.
