Banks have exited the bulk of their rupee arbitrage positions ahead of the RBI's April 10 deadline to cap net open positions in the onshore market at $100 million, Reuters reported. The arbitrage positions were estimated at around $40 billion. The RBI announced the cap last month amid the rupee's recent decline against the dollar.
