Mediterranean diet may activate anti-ageing proteins: Study

A study said a Mediterranean diet that includes olive oil, fish and legumes activates tiny anti-ageing proteins hidden inside our cells. Persistent oxidative stress can damage proteins, fats and DNA and has been linked to ageing. The study said Mediterranean diet increases levels of humanin, a microprotein that may help limit oxidative damage and provide added protection for heart.
