A young journalist had accused Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal of sexually assaulting her inside an elevator at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Goa on November 7 and 8 in 2013. Tejpal, who denied the allegations, was arrested within days but got bail in 2014. The trial began in October 2019, and a sessions court acquitted Tejpal in May 2021.
