Shami becomes 6th Indian pacer to take 900 wickets in professional cricket

Mohammed Shami has completed 900 wickets in professional cricket, becoming only the sixth Indian pacer to reach the landmark across first-class, List A and T20 cricket. He achieved the feat while representing East Zone against Central Zone in the Duleep Trophy 2026 semifinal. Notably, former skipper Kapil Dev remains the Indian pacer with most professional wickets, having taken 1,170 wickets.
