A Bengaluru businessman lost ₹5 lakh after opening a fake WhatsApp wedding invitation APK file sent from a known contact. The malicious file gave scammers remote access to his phone, enabling unauthorised bank transactions. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. As per reports, several Bengaluru residents have received similar fake wedding invitation files.
