Bengaluru nears 75-year September heat record as temperature touches 32.2°C
Bengaluru recorded unusually high temperatures of 32.2°C on Sunday and 31.9°C on Monday, nearing its September record of 33.3°C set in 1951. Monday’s temperature was just 1.4°C below that record. The IMD attributed the near-record heat to El Nino, saying, "This dry condition is likely to prevail for the next couple of days." The state has declared 101 taluks drought-hit.
