US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, at a press briefing, said, "Iran tried to kill President Trump, and President Trump got the last laugh." He further explained that Rahman Makdam, the leader of the Iranian unit involved in an assassination plot against Trump, had been tracked down and killed. Makdam was reportedly targeted in an airstrike last week.
