As PM Narendra Modi began a three-day visit to Seychelles from June 27 to June 29, India renewed focus on its partnership with the island nation. Located in the western Indian Ocean near key global shipping routes, Seychelles is important for India's maritime security interests. India also works with Seychelles to tackle piracy, illegal fishing and improve surveillance in region.
