Saudi Arabia executed 340 people in 2025, breaking record for number of executions carried out in a single year, according to AFP tally. The country executed 232 people in drug-related cases this year, which has been linked to its "war on drugs", launched in 2023. This marks second-straight year Saudi broke its own record since documenting executions began in 1990s.
