Three suspended Congress MLAs formally joined the BJP on Thursday in Assam ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls. The three MLAs, Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, Basanta Das, Sashi Kanta Das, were suspended from the Congress for declaring "support" to the BJP government. Purkayastha is a three-time MLA from Karimganj North, while Basanta Das is also a three-time MLA from Mangaldoi.
