short by Garima Garg / on Thursday, 9 July, 2026
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suspended the food business licence of Mumbai's iconic ice-cream outlet, K Rustom, after live rats, houseflies and expired items were found there. Founded in 1953, it's famous for its ice-cream sandwiches. The license of Shree Heera Sweets in Nagpur's Pachpaoli was also suspended over a dead rat found near the food preparation area.
