Jamaica petitions King Charles III for slavery reparations

Jamaica's Culture Minister Olivia Grange will petition King Charles III to refer three legal questions on slavery to the Privy Council — Britain's highest court of appeal. The questions cover legality of the slave trade and Britain's duty to provide redress. Britain has previously rejected paying reparations, though it compensated slave owners £20 million in 1833.
