8 crested ibises released in Japan decades after extinction

Japan released eight crested ibises into the earthquake-hit Noto region as part of conservation efforts to rebuild the population of the once-extinct bird. The release was carried out by Crown Prince and Princess Akishino, along with residents who have been involved in conservation activities for many years. The birds were released as symbols of hope for post-disaster reconstruction.
