Ice cream makers repeatedly hike prices by ₹5 as temperatures rise in Japan, probe uncovers cartel

Japan's Fair Trade Commission raided six of the biggest ice cream manufacturers after repeated hikes in ice cream prices amid rising temperatures triggered public outrage. Authorities said the companies were operating a cartel and repeatedly raised prices by 10 yen (₹5), beyond the increase in raw material prices. Ice cream bars in Japan typically sell for around 100 yen (₹58).
