Astronauts remove their wisdom teeth before space travel as they are notoriously unpredictable. While they can remain harmless for years, they can suddenly cause swelling/infections with little warning. It's a serious risk in space and can compromise the mission, unlike Earth, where one can visit a dentist. Shubhanshu Shukla also got his two wisdom teeth removed before going to space.
