Monsoon clouds cover 95% of India

Satellite images on July 22 showed monsoon clouds covering nearly 95% of India. Scientists attributed the widespread cloud cover to an active monsoon trough, repeated low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal, and abundant moisture from both the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Despite this, the IMD has flagged a 21% rainfall deficit in parts of the country.
