The ruling military junta in Myanmar said the death toll from the recent earthquake has risen to 2,056. The toll is expected to rise further, the junta said. The 7.7 magnitude quake, which occurred on Friday (March 28), was followed by a strong 6.4 magnitude aftershock, with widespread damage to infrastructure and lives reported in the country.

Currently serving as a Deputy Secretary at Prime Minister's Office, Tewari previously served as Under Secretary at the Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division in Foreign Ministry. Nidhi is from PM Modi's constituency of Varanasi and had secured 96th rank in UPSC civil services exam.
