New type of plastic that defies materials theory developed

Researchers at Netherlands' Wageningen University and Research created a new type of material called 'compleximer' that combines properties of both plastic and glass. The amber-coloured plastic can be kneaded and blown like glass once heated, while remaining impact-resistant like plastic. The material melts slowly enough to be shaped, defying the rule of thumb applying to glassy materials.
