The Centre introduced the 'hub-and-spoke' model to ease international travel for flyers across India. Under this, a passenger on a connecting international flight can check in and complete immigration and customs formalities at their home airport (spoke city) for their international flight. This will also eliminate the need to collect baggage and re-check in at the connecting airport (hub city).
