Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot returned Scheduled Castes (Sub-classification) Bill, also known as internal quota bill, to the state government seeking clarifications. The bill aims to legally formalise state's internal quota system for Scheduled Castes (SCs), dividing 17% SC reservation into 6% for left communities (erstwhile untouchables), 6% for right communities and 5% for others.
