Centre eases 'Make in India' norms in power sector, targets 60% local content by 2035

The Ministry of Power has revised “Make in India” procurement norms, setting a phased roadmap to achieve 60% minimum local content in HVDC substations. The rules apply to HVDC substations under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), key for long-distance power transmission. Minimum Local Content refers to the share of components that must be sourced or manufactured within India.
