Rare total solar eclipse begins, pic surfaces

The only total solar eclipse of 2026 is taking place today, turning parts of the Northern Hemisphere dark. The event is visible in totality from parts of Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, the Atlantic Ocean, Spain and a small corner of Portugal. India will not see the solar eclipse. The longest totality lasted about 2 minutes 18 seconds.
