Apple is in early discussions with select Indian semiconductor firms to assemble and package components for iPhone, the Economic Times reported. If these talks materialise, this would be the first time Apple will assemble and package certain chips in India. Among the companies involved is CG Semi, part of Murugappa Group, which is building an outsourced semiconductor facility in Gujarat.
