Recent earthquakes in Venezuela have raised concerns over possible disruptions to India’s crude oil imports, as Venezuela emerged as one of India’s largest suppliers in April and May 2026. Damage to Venezuela’s oil fields, ports or transport facilities could affect shipments. India’s average monthly crude imports from Venezuela jumped from 64.027 TMT in FY26 to 1,047.148 TMT during April-May FY27.
