China's Yu Deng and Hong Wang, USA's John Pardon and Canada's Jacob Tsimerman were awarded the 2026 Fields Medals. Wang became the third woman ever to receive the prestigious honour after Maryam Mirzakhani and Maryna Viazovska. Wang was honoured for solving the decades-old Kakeya conjecture. Fields Medal is widely known as the 'Nobel Prize of Mathematics'.
