G7 is a group of US, UK, France, Italy, Japan, Germany and Canada but India is repeatedly invited to the summits because it has emerged as a voice for the Global South. India's economic rise has made it impossible for developed nations to ignore it. Other factors include India's role in checking China's presence and role in fighting climate change.
