Barrier lake on Tibet-Nepal border could breach within 72 hours, warns China

Amid flash floods and mudslides, Chinese authorities have warned that a barrier lake on Tibet-Nepal border could breach within 72 hours. The barrier lake, with its water volume estimated at 2 million cubic metres as of Thursday, is already overflowing. Another 3 million cubic metres of water is expected to flow into it over the next three days, authorities said.
