Myanmar's junta has reduced the sentence of imprisoned ex-leader Aung San Suu Kyi and freed former President Win Myint as part of an amnesty by new President Min Aung Hlaing, Reuters reported. Hlaing had led a coup in 2021 against the democratically elected government, leading to the arrest of several leaders. Suu Kyi's 27-year sentence has been reduced by one-sixth.
