The district court in Punjab's Kapurthala on Monday awarded life imprisonment to three individuals for the kidnapping and murder of a 14-year-old boy in 2016. One of the convicts is a cousin of the deceased victim, the prosecution informed. The convicts had conspired to demand a ransom of ₹30 lakhs from the boy's father, a local industrialist, the prosecution added.
