India's top five IT services firms, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCLTech and Tech Mahindra, reported net reduction of 6,981 employees in FY26, compared with net additions of 12,718 in FY25. TCS accounted for biggest drops, cutting 23,460 roles during the year, while Tech Mahindra cut headcount by 1,108 employees amid AI-led efficiencies. Meanwhile, Infosys, Wipro and HCLTech continued to add workers.
