Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Journalists Welfare Fund would be increased by ₹2 crore. The rules of the pension scheme for journalists must be simplified, he said, adding that monthly assistance given to veteran journalists has been increased from ₹5,000 to ₹8,000. Further, ₹36 lakh was approved from the fund for dependents of journalists and seriously ill journalists.
