As India and Bangladesh look to reset ties under Tarique Rahman-led Bangladesh Nationalist Party government, Bangladesh's envoy to India Riaz Hamidullah proposed a cross-border performance with Shillong Chamber Choir. After meeting the group, he said they "spontaneously" planned for the choir to perform in Bangladesh to celebrate friendship and togetherness.
