India's first woman President Pratibha Patil has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi, praising the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (Women's Reservation Bill). "It is a powerful affirmation of our collective resolve to advance gender equality, foster inclusive governance," she stated. The bill, passed in 2023, provides for one-third reservation for women in legislative bodies.
