A US soldier accused of making $400,000 (around ₹4 crore) by placing bets based on classified information about the operation to capture then-Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has asked a judge to dismiss the case. Van Dyke argued that the bets, placed on a prediction market app, were not illegal. Federal prosecutors charged him with using classified insider information.
