Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' has reportedly sold its overseas distribution rights to Phars Films for a record ₹175 crore. The minimum guarantee amount paid for a film reflects distributor's faith in its theatrical performance. Overseas, distributors usually receive only 50% of the box office gross, which means 'King' would have to earn $37-40 million (₹350-375 crore) just to break even.
