Study finds why heart cancer is so rare

Researchers at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology have found the reason heart cancers are so rare. A study on mice revealed that the heart's constant beating actively protects it from cancer by halting tumour growth in cardiac tissues. While cancer can spread from other parts of the body to the heart, tumours rarely start there, they said.
