As many as 275 former judges, retired bureaucrats, and armed forces veterans criticised a report by the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, which suggested that the US government ban RSS. Calling the report "highly motivated", their statement said it displays "intellectual bankruptcy and deranged conclusions". They urged the US government to run background checks on all contributors.
